Description
Delicately potted and painted polychrome plate with a minute painting of flowers in small joined panels. The designs are painted in over glaze enamels and underglaze cobalt, and then accented with gilding. The rim has a delicate border of a cobalt crosshatch with interrupted iron red designs. The rim edge has a faint iron application.
The very thinly hand potted porcelain plate has been covered in a nice thick very soft and smooth glaze. When held to a light, the plate is translucent. The glaze has good control stopping just above the foot. There is a slight raised foot that is unglazed. The base is glazed and you can see the potter’s wheel rings under the glaze. There are no marks or labels.
