Dual 1229 is in excellent condition. This deck has been completely refurbished
.. Condition is "Seller refurbished".
Work done includes:
Spark Suppressor (On/Off) Capacitor has been replaced with a new modern safety capacitor.
Motor was disassembled, cleaned, and lubricated with proper oil.
Cleaned and lubricated the spindle bearing with the correct oil.
Clean and lubrication of all other mechanical connections with the proper lubricants.
The Start/Stop Lever has been disassembled, cleaned and re-lubricated.
New 5000k silicone damping oil in the tonearm cue mechanism. Drops nice and slow as it should.
All automatic functions have been tested and adjusted and are in working order.
Polished the platter and applied wax to the outer edge for resistance to tarnishing.
The Steuerpimpel was inspected, its still pliable and shows no sign of wear.
Adjusted the single/multi-play, switch has been cleaned and re-lubed
Rubber ring gasket for single to multi record switching was replaced.
Cleaned and re-lubed end of play trip pawl
Cleaned all electrical contacts, including the cartridge, carrier, headshell and RCA jacks.
The dust cover has been polished and cleaned.  It looks great from the front, but there are some small cracks at the back and side (see photos for cosmetics).

This turntable has been completely restored back to its original operating condition. All functions work perfectly as they should. Cosmetically, it is in very good condition with a few minor blemishes on the deck and small cracks in back / side of dust cover.  See photos for cosmetic condition.
The original box is an important consideration in buying a vintage turntable like this that has to be shipped.  The platter on the Dual 1229 weighs nearly 7lbs and can destroy a turntable if shipped attached to the deck.  This turntable will be shipped with the platter separated from the deck and secured in the original box.  This will be double boxed with the base and dust cover bubble wrapped and protected with cardboard separating them in the box.
This is a vintage turntable in great refurbished condition and should give many years of reliable service.  As with all vintage gear like this, it may require maintenance from time to time.  There is no guarantee, and you should consider this in your bid.  This is being sold as is, with no returns and no refunds.
