For Sale: Dual 1229Q Turntable with a Shure Cartridge, circa 1975 vintage.
This turntable is in great overall condition. Very clean. Everything is there. One very small dent on tone arm (See photo). Turntable plays, but is slow to get to speed. It needs servicing.  The condition of the Shure cartridge and stylus are unknown.
Walnut base cabinet (United Audio name plate on the front)
Turntable plays 33, 45 and 78rpm records.
Thick, heavy 11 7/8 inch diameter aluminum platter.
11 1/2 inch diameter rubber pad.
Center hole stud ("Single Record Spindle").
Tone arm queing control (lever).
Strobe light speed calibration.
Quadraphic capable (I think that the cartridge may be quad capable)
3 Screw lock downs for shipping/transportation.
Comes with a Shure cartridge, stylus, power cord (not removable), ground wire (not removable) and original DUAL stereo RCA cord.
This turntable was professionally installed in an elaborate custom built cabinet. No dust cover. The back wood top piece of the DUAL cabinet base that used to hold the original plastic dust cover is missing.  It may be missing one or more wooden feet on the underside of the wooden base.
Otherwise, the original DUAL cabinet base is complete.
In this installation the whole perimeter of the base rests on a rubber pad on the floor of a customized drawer- eg. the feet aren't being used.
This has been a really great turntable- I've owned since 1976. With some service and care this turntable will perform great for many years to come. I am downsizing and unfortunately it needs to go.  It will be properly "locked down" and packed for shipping.  SOLD "AS IS", NO RETURNS.
