    Description

    Artist/engraver - worked mostly in Ohio Thomas E. French (1871-1944) for
    Ex Libris - ALICE CALLENDER. French, among those b/p artists considered
    in the realm of the "Golden Age". Note, in this one French covered part of
    the word 'Libris' for a mongram shield - a shield that doesn't match any part of Alice or her Last name. University Michigan name is at the left. At the right another seal - in Latin. We've not done the work on that one.
