    Description

    Greetings!
    Here is a 100% original and NEVER SEEN(other than this one) by anyone I have ever come into contact with over 25 years, including hundreds of Wheelmen-seasoned folks. That's not to say that there aren't a few others out there. But please wisen-me and grace me with leads if you have them with another one or two, as THIS ONE would love to have long-lost family members elsewhere! Let me know!! We could form a club!
    This has been gracing the handlebars of my 1902 Crown component bicycle for many many years. It looks great on there and it has many admirers when seen in-person....but I know deep in my heart that this belongs on a period early-pneumatic(1892-1895) or late hard-tire/cushion safety of the early 1890's. Like I said, I love having this showcase my rare bicycle, but appropriateness and continuity is how I wish to operate. If nobody captures it, I guess I'll continue to enjoy its uniqueness.
    ==CONDISH==
    as original as it gets. Not another to compare it to. Looks great for bobbing-and weaving through the last 135+ years! Runs very well, considering it has probably never been serviced other than my once-over check-up. It is a back-wind and set clock. ..and it is a
    clock
    , not some economy Yankee dollar pocket watch. Complete gilt movement, high-quality machining. These movements were put in some very cool ornamental mantle and early alarm clocks of the 1880's and 1890's. It runs VERY fast, like gaining 10 minutes an hour. I have tried to remedy this by examining the logical places, regulation, etc. I believe the hairspring needs length adjustment. I have never really cared that this ran fast, and should be an easy fix for a clockmaker/watch repair guy. I'm am just satisfied that it always ran well and with conviction.
    That being said, this is a back-wind and set, I slowly wind in half-turns. The last thing you want to do is break a mainspring. Half-wind, then stop, another half-wind, etc. Just feel it. The setting is from center knob, pulled all the way out. It will want to stop, and then you carefully continue out further. You'll know when you are there. Sets well. Then just push back in.
    ==CASE==
    is nickel-plated brass, showing thinness and darkening in variation. Just gorgeous patina. Stamped on back "KEYSER BICYCLE CLOCK". Front bezel that retains the beveled glass crystal has a split. The glass has only a couple scratches at apex, but overall is spectacular in clarity.
    ==PATENTED BRACKET==
    is a work of art. Cast/machined brass, nickel-plated. Stamped with patent date, June 21, 1892. Also, each half is stamped with 180(half) and 7/8", which was for the stem size to mount to. Keyser also designed a bracket to hold a compass for a bicycle(patent drawing)
    ==DIAL==
    the unique thing about this dial is the aperture that showcases the "pendulum" that moves from side to side when running. It is more than unique. These dials were not cheapie cardboard or paper. They are celluloid. Just a few undulations at edges. Looks nice and bright.
    ==PHOTOS==
    **
    Scrutinize photos for cosmetic condition. A couple photos show the patent illustration and also this clock mounted on my 1902 Crown. Both seen here for visual reference only.
    ==SUMMARY==
    an anomaly of sorts.  Price 'reflects' obsolete-factor. No trades/discounts. I would like for this clock to be in the right hands, on the appropriate bicycle. It's the historian-in-me.
    ++Could adorn everything from a Lovell Diamond, Columbia, Waverly, Smalley, Ariel, Rambler, etc.,
