Sears Silvertone Console Stereo/Turntable

Description

Sears Silvertone console stereo. Solid state. Cabinet shows its age. The back panel that covers the electronics is missing, but would be easy to reproduce with some particle board. It used to have doors that covered the speakers, but they are gone. You can see where the hinges used to be in the pics. It's 70" wide, 18" deep, and 28" high.
The good new is that it works. It gets reception on AM and FM, and both left and right channels work. The record player functions, but it is sluggish. Probably old, gummy grease. Likely just needs a good cleaning and lubrication. This unit also has a tape input on the back. This means you could easily connect a bluetooth adapter and stream music from your phone!

If you're interested in a cosmetic restoration of the cabinet, I have a contact that does exceptional work. A couple of years ago he gave me a quote to fill in the crevices where the hinges attached and add graining to make it like it was never there. This, plus a full restoration of the cabinet. He quoted me 0. A few years ago he restored a hope chest for us that was horribly water stained. It's like new. He does great work.
