Born in Palo Alto,Marguerite embraced art at an early age. Strongly moved by the grace andfreedom of horses, she began drawing them by the age of four. She wasfascinated by Pegasus, and soon after was sketching horses with wings, as wellas eagles.
Marguerite once explained, “I don’t just paintanimals. I become them. My understanding of them is purely intuitive. So whenpeople look into the eyes of the wolf they connect with the spirit. I want themto feel the inner soul of the animal.”
Throughout her childhood and teenage years sherendered drawings that spoke of nature and protecting the earth. Her innatelove and respect for Indians and their ancient wisdom inspired her deeply. Shechose not to attend art school because she only enjoyed drawing her owncreations, not what someone wanted her to draw. It was imperative to her thather drawings capture the honesty and nature of civilization.
