South Georgia 2017 Blue Whale Proof Silver Coin
Blue whales are the largest animals to have resided on Earth. These splendid marine mammals rule the oceans at up to 100 feet long and upwards of 200 tons. Their tongues alone can weigh as much as an elephant. Their hearts, as much as a vehicle. They have a broad, flat head and a long, tapered body that ends in broad, triangular flukes.
They reach these mind-blowing measurements on a diet plan composed nearly exclusively of tiny shrimplike animals called krill. Throughout specific times of the year, a single adult blue whale consumes as much as four tons of krill a day.
Their colour holds true blue underwater, but on the surface area their colouring is more a mottled blue-gray. Their underbellies handle a yellow-coloured hue from the countless microbes that take up home in their skin.
Blue whales reside in all the worlds oceans occasionally swimming in small groups but generally alone or in pairs. They frequently spend summer times feeding in polar waters and undertake prolonged migrations to the Equator as winter gets here.
