    Description

Vintage Pioneer PL-512 manual, belt-drive turntable in good condition. Unit has be tested and is working well. This is a full manual turntable and must be cued by hand. It also does not have an 'Auto-Return' or 'Reject' feature. At end of disc, arm needs to be cued and returned by hand. Turntable operates smoothly and is fully intact. Platter speed is accurate at both 33 & 45rpm. There is no speed adjustment or strobe on this turntable. Belt is intact but may need replaced soon. It appears to be a bit worn and loose. I did find one small issue with this unit. When I set the anti-skating knob to the proper tracking force (approx. 2g for this cartridge), the tonearm wants to gradually swing away from proper drop-point when lowering it. In fact, the arm still wanted to swing away even at a lower anti-skate setting. I turned the anti-skate to zero and it seems to track fine at that setting. I don't know what is going on with the anti-skate control. It almost seems like it is applying too much lateral force to the arm. Tonearm comes mounted with a Shure STX10 cartridge & stylus. Cartridge & stylus have an unknown number of hours on them but both are working well.
Cosmetically, unit shows normal wear and looks quite good. Plinth and face of unit are in very good condition. There are a few minor marks here & there, but no significant blemishes. Arm, counterweight, and headshell are in excellent condition. Arm has some light spotting/pitting. Tonearm rest & lock are fully intact. Platter & mat are in good condition. Mat has some embedded dust in the grooves. Dust cover is fully intact and shows normal wear. There are lots of small scuffs & scratches on cover. No cracks, gouges, deep scratches, melt spots, or damage. Hinges are fully intact. Power cord and cables are in good shape. All four turntable feet are present and intact. I think the feet have lost some of their "spring", allowing the unit to sit a bit lower. Because of this, the motor housing underneath unit makes contact with the ground. It's not a big deal, but please be aware of this before sliding the table around on a nice piece of furniture. The metal housing could potentially mar a surface.
Turntable is guaranteed to arrive in described condition. Please inspect & test upon receiving and notify me directly if there are any issues. Unit will be packaged securely for shipment (tonearm secured, counterweight & platter removed and wrapped separately, double box and plenty of cushioning).
