Description
estate item, from a 90 year collector and friend. I've set the price on this at what I would pay to have one of these, for some jobs it's very handy to have the hammer and wrench in one tool which is what this gives you. A lot of these tools are "beat to death", this one isn't, you can see that the hammer part has been used, but the jaws are parallel and the frame isn't all smashed and bent (which is why I'll keep it if it doesn't sell). This was in a box of his marked "antique tools".Around 1920 Williams acquired the Whitman & Barnes Company, which explains why this wrench has both the J. H. Williams markings and also the Whitman & Barns logo on the handle. quoting from Alloy Artifacts, "
In 1920 the J.H. Williams company acquired the drop-forge and wrench operations of Whitman & Barnes, and the W&B president A.D. Armitage became a vice-president of J.H. Williams. Some of the W&B product lines (e.g. monkey wrenches and alligator wrenches) remained in production under J.H. Williams."
I normally ship within 24 hours of your order, but the post office does not always initiate tracking when I put the packages in the drop off box.
