    1882-1939 this ex Libris
    is dated 1933 for ELIZABETH and ETHAN ELLIS. A pleasant woodland scene
    with a road (heading to the Ellis home). Jameson, considered one of "the great contemporary masters" by Butler in American Bookplates is a skilled engraver
    along with French, Spenceley, Hollyer, et al. He was born in Chicago.
    We know not where the Ellis home may have been.
    The bookplate is also part of the Brewer collection at University of Delaware.
    Ethan Ellis was a professor at Rutgers in history and Political Science
